Florence is the capital city of Tuscany and over the year it has been considered “The Athens of the Middle Age”. Due to its artistic and cultural heritage, every year it attracts a lot of tourists from all over the world. Museums like Uffizi or Academia are considered one of the main attractions of the city. They are actually hosting a lot of masterpieces such as The Birth of Venus by Botticelli (Uffizi) or The David by Michelangelo (Academia).
HOW TO BOOK MUSEUMS IN FLORENCE?
Considering the fact that from the beginning of April until the end of September the city hosts a lot of tourists, we recommend you to book your tickets in advance, in order to avoid long lines. Booking in advance means that you have to choose a specific date and time to visit the museums, because tickets are sold only for specific entrance times.
Through the web page www.ticketsflorence.com visitors can buy their tickets and check some information about the availability and the price of the tickets as well as offers for groups and opening hours of the museum. The first Sunday of the month the entrance is free, but it’s not possible to buy tickets in advance so it’s necessary to queue.
It’s also possible to book tickets and get information, calling the number of the Reservation center (+39 (0)55 2654321) available from Monday to Friday (08.30 am – 06.30 pm) and on Saturday (08.30 am – 12.30 pm).
If you are already in Florence, and you are thinking about going to the museums in the days after your arrival, you could also join the Info points located in the Pitti Palace or in the hall of Nuovi Uffizi and book your ticket directly on site. These two Info points are opened from Tuesday to Sunday (08.30 am – 07.00 pm).
Be careful! Most of museums may be closed on Monday! Visit the web site www.imuseidifirenze.it and check it out before planning your trip.
