Thousands and thousands of tourists decide to visit Siena and Tuscany every year. If you live outside Italy, the fastest way to get to Siena is probably the plane.
Siena has an airport but it is used for private flights only. The closest airport to Siena is “Florence Peretola” (84km), but there are also “Pisa Galileo Galilei” and “Rome Fiumicino”.
FLORENCE AIRPORT->SIENA: You can choose either the train or the bus. By train: take the shuttle bus “Vola in bus”, then at “Santa Maria Novella” Station you can take any regional train to Siena (with and without change in Empoli).
By bus: take the shuttle bus “Vola in bus” to SMN, then take a “Busitalia-Sita” bus to Siena on the western part of the station (Via Santa Caterina da Siena 15). For further information: http://www.aeroporto.firenze.it/it/i-passeggeri/trasporti/bus.html, trenitalia.it, sitabus.it.

Just take the shuttle bus from the airport; in under 10 minutes you will get to “Pisa Centrale” (train station), then take a regional train to Siena (with a change in Empoli). The journey is 2 hours long and the ticket costs 13,50€. For further information check out this website: trenitalia.it.
It is also possible to take the bus directly from the airport, but there’s a change in Florence and the ticket costs 15€. For further information: http://www.tiemmespa.it/index.php/Viaggia-con-noi/Altri-servizi/Lunga-percorrenza/Siena-Firenze-Pisa-Aeroporto)

Once you reach Siena, it is very easy to find Hotel Borgo Grondaie (Strada delle Grondaie 15). From the station in Piazza Carlo Rosselli you should head to Via Mazzini, then cross the “Caduti sul Lavoro” bridge; once you see the big sign of the “Coop” supermarket, follow Strada delle Grondaie keeping to the left. Our hotel is located in a crucial position: we are very close to the station (1km) and the city center (1,5km). Check out our website to find out more about our latest offers!
