The Academy is located in the heart of town and a stone’s throw from Piazza del Campo and from the Dome. These places could be easily reached from our hotel just for 5 minutes by car!

What is “La Chigiana”? It is a music academy founded in 1932 by Count Guido Chigi and his love for music. He gave permission to host and to be joined in his own house by many masters of music. The building dates back to the 12th century and it originally belonged to the ancient “Marescotti” family, then it was  passed to the “Chigi”. They lived there until 1965 so, apart from being their mansion, it was also a house-museum. In fact, even now, people from all over of the world come in “La Chigiana” to enjoy the very precious collection owned by  the previous owners. Among the impressive display of artworks, there is also the eldest known instrument in the world: the harpsichord made in 1515 and belonged to the great Antonio Stradivari as well as a set of instruments that date back to 1903.
