Chianti Ecomarathon now reached its 10th edition and it has become a nationally known event thanks to the beauty of its trails and numberous events organized during the festival.
On October 16,th 2016 the runners of Chianti Ecomarathon will have chance to race in the charming Tuscan countryside and especially in one of the most scenic and reknown region: the Chianti
This year the trails of the Chianti Ecomarathon are numberous and suitable for everyone:
the Classical Chianti Ecomarathon for experts – trail of 42 km – There are no big climbs but it’s a constant up and down on gentle slopes. The highest point is 627 mt and the lowest 206 mt. A quick race, an average of 30 minutes less than a normal race circuit, but very muscular. Most of the trail is gravel road and field road, through the vineyards of Arceno Farms and Felsina, and a spectacular avenue of cypresses. The arrival of the route is in Piazza Marconi in Castelnuovo Berardenga.
The Chianti Classico Trail 21 Km – this year it is going to have a brand new route starting and finishing in Castelnuovo Berardenga in the heart of the festival indeed. Easy and not bumpy path without major ascents is suitable for those who want to prepare an autumn marathon where the clock serves as feedback and does not dictate the pace at km.
the Luca Trail 14 km – compared to last year there are 3 km more, that does not weigh on physical performance, but will increase the beauty of the route and the scenery! It ‘easy path for everyone both as background and as slope: the maximum stretch for 300 up to 700 meters in length without steep slopes.
If you like more walking than running you could join the Ecopasseggiata on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 9:30 am with a nice route of 10 Km in the Chianti countryside. The starting point will be from Piazza Marconi in Castelnuovo Berardenga. This route is suitable for all people who are used to walking in the city or on the beach and who are willing to take a walk in the beautiful tuscan countryside also with the support of two refreshments and medical assistance. No entry limit and no cost. Registration is open from October 17 afternoon and directly October 18 morning before starting race.
Also for walking lovers…. but more challenging, Saturday, October 15th at 15:30 it starting the third edition of ARCENO NORDIC WALKING: a trail of 11 Km dedicated exclusively to this discipline which has become very popular here in Tuscany and all over the countries. It is Starting from the beautiful village of San Gusmé and finishing in Castelnuovo Berardenga (SI) along the stunning gravel roads that characterize this amazing region of Tuscany, Chianti, On the way back to Castelnuovo you will enjoy a sunset over Siena that you won’t ever forget!
The Chianti Ecomarathon roads are endless and not only suitable for sportifs.
There’s one by the slower tone: it is called “Walking through cellars” and seems to be made for lovers of good food without forgetting the well-being of living outdoors. The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 15 in Castelnuovo Berardenga (SI), when from the morning you will start a winery tour of 8 km to the discover some of the most prestigious farms of the Chianti region.
