TORRITA BLUES FESTIVAL June, 21st/22nd/23rd, TORRITA DI SIENA
The next June 21st it will start the 24th edition of the Torrita Blues Festival, the festival will be held in Torrita di Siena, not far from the famous Montalcino and Montepulciano, in the beautiful square surrounded by medieval walls and the great tower of the town overlooking the stage.
The initiative was founded in 1989 by a group of friends and fans of blues and has grown over the years to become a very important event for lovers of blues especially for this edition where the first star to shine will be Joe Louis Walker, one of the most important blues artists of our time, a great guitarist and singer whose extraordinary performance is scheduled for Friday, June 22nd.
Other big names like Mac Arnold or Platefull o’Bluse will be there.
In addition there will be the prize giving for the winner of the competition EFFETTO BLUES dedicated to the Italian Bands.

PIENZA AND FLOWERS from 29 April to 13 May
“Pienza and flowers” is a traditional festival starting the second weekend of May and includes an exhibition of plants and flowers along the streets of this beautiful village.
It was initially created as a selling exhibition of high quality to enhance the architecture of the square Pio II and the Papal Palace and enhance the floral character already present in the city classical style. ‘Pienza and the flowers’ presents itself as a celebration of Spring canon, a sort of floral jubilation, a hymn to the arrival of summer, the new fruits, a some kind of flower ritual of farming year.

During this event there you could have the chance to visite some of the most beautiful garden of Val d’Orcia area, as for example the rooftop garden of the Palazzo Piccolomini and Sant’Anna in Camprena both located in Pienza; the public park Bosco Isabella in Radicofani, Leonini Garden and the Rose Garden in San Quirico d’Orcia.

Easter Monday in Gaiole in Chianti with Contemporary Ceramics
The Market of master potters will be held Monday, April 9, from 10 to 19 hours, in Piazza Ricasoli.A chance to admire and buy precious ceramics, but also an opportunity for young people, to create an object with their hands.The event, sponsored by the municipality of Gaiole, with the cooperation of the determinant of potters “Ceramic Art”, will participate in approximately twenty-five exhibitors from various parts of Tuscany, but also from France and Germany.
During the Market – 10 am to 12 am and from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm - will run a workshop for kids of all ages, assisted by master potters. They will be able to work the clay from the creation to a finished product ready for cooking.

The antique fair that usually takes place in Bounconvento over Easter weekend this year comes to it’s XXX edition. Closely linked to our cultural artistic and ethnic traditions, this fair was born with the aim to introduce and promote ancient and modern furnishings, books, pottery, jewelry, carpets etc.
Some of them, the most particular and decorated, are greatly appreciated by antique lovers and dealers, who had collected and restore them giving back their quality and value.
These pieces represent fantasy, talent, and creativeness of craftsmen work.
Buonconvento town council together with traders and craftsmen want to promote this fair as an exhibition, where both foreign tourists and local people could admire our beautiful antiques and make an acquaintance with Siena territory and taste the best Val d’Orcia vines as well.

The Francigena road: a walking tour with historical costumes

Monteriggioni Town Council organizes a walking tour from Abbadia Isola to Monteriggioni.
During the promenade a pilgrim will tell you his story of his trip towords Rome. At the arrival at Monteeriggioni fortress you will be welcome by the gurrison’s captain.
Departure at 10 am from Abbadia Isola – lenght4 km – last about 2.15 hours
Minimum participants 15
Reservation required by 2 days prior the promenade
Price for adult 20 euro and 5 euro for children from 7 to 11, free for youngers
At the end there will be a shuttle available to brings participants back to Abbadia Isola

Tenuta Valdipiatta open from Monday to Friday from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.
A complete “taste of Tuscany” experience: guests will visit the production facilities and ageing room, and explore the characteristics of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. After the tour, they will have the opportunity to discover some of the Southern Tuscany’s traditional products, including Pecorino di Pienza and Extra Virgin Olive Oli, paired with Tenuta di Valdipiatta’s wines.

Tasting wines drawn directly from the barrel is normally a privilege reserved for winemakers, but they decided to extend the possibility to those guests who are most passionate about wine. As barrel-drawn wine is a product in development, guest will be guided through the tasting by their experienced technical personnel.
The tour of the cantina will be followed by a tasting of three of our finest wines, which will be uncorked exclusively for guests, and will be accompained by a tasting of Tenuta Valdipiatta’s Extra-Virgin Olive Oil.
After the tour of our vinification facilities, and the historical barrel cellar carved out of the tufa, guests will be taken to one of the vineyards near the cantina for a more in-depth discussion of the agronomic aspects of wine production, followed by a tasting of four of Tenuta Valdipiatta’s finest vintages.
At the ed of the tour, guests will have the chance to relax and enjoy an open-air picnic that will be set up exclusively for them near one of Tenuta Valdipiatta’s vineyards. The picnic will consist of local specialities and Tenuta Valdipiatta wines. Please note that if the weather conditions will not be good, the pic-nic/lunch will be held indoor.
